I’ve had some great fun reading surreal, magical, and just plain odd books.  They’re brilliant at both lightening your mind and giving you the space to think about issues in a new or less static way.
Here’s a mix of the most fantastical and bizarre books I have read, including both my favorites and others that I think fit too well not to be included, even if they didn’t do it for me.

Word Up!

Anyone here ever watch Word Girl (and her monkey sidekick, Captain Fuzzyface?)
No? Me neither.

It came out around the time I was too old to watch it (early middle school, maybe?) when most of my friends were watching Cartoon Network and Disney Channel and all that.  Somehow I kind of skipped right from PBS Kids to Gossip Girl and then to movies and now almost all the movies I watch are R-rates and I have no idea how that happened.
